Here’s what I will work for:
1. Working together with parents, school councils and communities to secure:
o the necessary supports and resources to ensure learning opportunities for each student to succeed in an increasingly diverse and challenging society;
o a funding model that is practical so that we can build, maintain and operate public schools in our communities;
o 100% successful high school graduate pass rate.
o the development and implementation of new learning systems that put students first.
2. Engaging with parents and community to obtain the diverse views that Edmontonians express about the providing of public education and the learning values critical to student success.
3. I am committed to ongoing dialogue to achieve responsible decision-making;
4. Public schools close to where students live being a hub for our communities;
5. A public education system that focuses on teaching students academic skills as well as a personal sense of responsibility and citizenship so that they appreciate the importance of our democratic society. We also want the students to leave high school with a high degree of appreciation for the rights of others regardless of their ethnic and cultural background.
